Dual-Enrollment
In partnership with Northwestern Michigan College and Baker College of Cadillac, students have the opportunity to earn free college credits while completing their high school graduation requirements. This opportunity saves students money and moves them closer to college graduation.
Program highlights:
- Course tuition is covered by the district, so long as the approved courses are completed successfully.
- Courses are available in different formats to accommodate student schedules, including virtual, in-person, and a hybrid of the two.
- Students may enroll in courses that are included in the Michigan Transfer Agreement, meaning a majority of Michigan colleges and universities will honor those credits toward their degree programs.
- A minimum 2.5 GPA is required to enroll.
To date, 42% of the Class of 2022 has earned college credit through Dual Enrollment, together completing a total of 72 college courses!

Northwest Ed Career Tech
Students utilize the most modern technology and state-of-the-art equipment daily to gain a skill set intended to enable their success and promote employability beyond high school. Every student leaves having gained invaluable hands-on experience in a career field, and several programs award professional-level certifications.
Program highlights:
- The Career-Tech Center is a career and technical education school that offers training in 23 career fields.
- Students may begin a CTC program as early as their junior year.
- Bus transportation is provided for afternoon programs.

Early College
In partnership with Northwest Educational Services and Northwestern Michigan College, students have the opportunity to complete a technical program at the Traverse City Career-Tech Center and potentially earn an Associate’s Degree by completing college courses over a three-year period.
Program highlights:
- Students begin the Early College program at the start of their junior year and complete it at the conclusion of their “thirteenth” year.
- Withholding the high school diploma for one additional year allows students to complete the program and obtain more college credits than a standard dual enrollment option, saving students a substantial amount of money.

- A minimum 3.0 GPA is required to participate.
