Wheeler Creek Trails
A group of community members came together this spring to break ground on establishing trails on a 27-acre piece of property owned by Buckley Schools. The property, known to most as the “FFA Pond” will soon be a public park with about 2 miles of beginner mountain bike and multipurpose trails for the community to enjoy. The project aims to meet the need for healthy, outdoor recreational opportunities that will benefit students and their families.
The trail-building effort is currently a work in progress, led by community members with help from organizations such as Northern Michigan Mountain Bike Association (NMMBA), Norte, and Northwest Education Services.
